Clifton Grassland

In early 2006, this vegetation type, known as
Kangaroo Grassland on Seacliff s and Coastal
Headlands, was listed as an Endangered
Ecological Community under the NSW
Threatened Species Conservation Act. Most
of this vegetation type has been destroyed by
grazing and coastal development.
Along with the Kangaroo Grassland at
Brickyard Point at Austinmer, it represents
one of the last examples of this type of pre-
European vegetation in this area - it is a living
museum and needs our care and protection.
Supported by an Environmental Trust
(NSW) grant, we are slowly removing Kikuyu
grass and Blackberry which is invading the
Grassland.
If you would like to know more about how we
are protecting and restoring this area, please
come and speak to a member of our bush
regeneration team.
